I haven't eaten at Hakata Daruma in a while, so I'll be reviewing the recommended menu items at the newly opened Hakata Daruma No. 5 Line!
Hello, this is Noguchi Tsuyoshi from Noguchubu (X account @ta0416 )!
It's been about 9 years since I last ate at Hakata Daruma,
which has recently opened in Chikushino City, so I'd like to share the
menu and review of Hakata Daruma No. 5!
Conclusion: "I was so happy to be able to eat at the large store in Chikushino City without having to wait in line at the Hakata Daruma Main Branch! The rich pork bone ramen and super-thin noodles made for a truly delicious bowl! This is a restaurant where you can enjoy the idea that 'smelly = delicious!'"
I've always loved the ramen at Hide-chan Ramen and Hakata
Daruma Souhonten, but I hadn't been going there much because I had to go
all the way to the center of Fukuoka City to eat there. However, Hakata
Daruma Route 5 opened on Tuesday, December 2, 2025!
However, this area "along Prefectural Route 31 in Chikushino
City, Fukuoka Prefecture" is crowded with restaurants, and there used to
be "Unagi no Naruse Chikushino Tenbaizaka Branch" here, and before that
there was "Hakata Sanki" and "Genkai no Sato," I think? Now that "Unagi
no Naruse Chikushino Tenbaizaka Branch" is gone, who will take its
place next? So, I'm very happy that "Hakata Daruma" has come!
This place is famous for not being able to keep a store open for a long time, and it's constantly changing (sobs)
Also, along Prefectural Route 31 in Chikushino City, Fukuoka
Prefecture, there are a huge number of restaurants, so if there are any
restaurants in this area, it's a sure bet!
Along Prefectural Route 31 in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture = Restaurant Road!
In the past, many stores have opened, closed down, and been replaced, repeating this cycle many times.
The reason is that my wife's parents live in Chikushino City,
and we have been monitoring the situation for many years.
Nearby ramen shops include " Ichiran Dazaifu Branch ," which is open 24 hours a day, " Marugen Ramen Dazaifu Osano Branch ," and " Tenkaippin Chikushino Branch (Kyoto representative)," and " Karamenya Masumoto Chikushino Branch (Miyazaki representative)" is right next door (lol).
Additionally, along Prefectural Route 31 in Chikushino City,
Fukuoka Prefecture, there are chain restaurants such as McDonald's, MOS
Burger, Sushiro, Gyoza no Osho, Bamiyan, Daichi no Udon, Maki no Udon,
Kura Sushi, MK Restaurant, Katsuya, Sukiya, Wakatakemaru (representing
Nagasaki), Starbucks, Suesan Udon, Yakiniku King, Gyukaku, GoGo Curry,
Yayoiken, and many more... This is an area where many famous
restaurants, both nationally and locally, are concentrated!
First of all, it's an area with a high turnover rate, with
the feeling that "unpopular stores will go out of business!" (laughs)
And then, "Hakata Daruma Line 5" opened!!
So, let's take a quick look at what kind of ramen restaurant "Hakata Daruma" is!
Teach me, AI!!!
↓↓
Hakata Daruma is an indispensable restaurant
when talking about Fukuoka's ramen culture, and is truly worthy of being called a "legend .
"
Since its founding in 1963 (Showa 38), the restaurant has
maintained its artisanal flavor, and is currently headed by
second-generation owner Kawahara Hideto. Let's take a closer look at the
appeal of this restaurant, which is hugely popular not only with
tourists visiting Fukuoka but also with locals who prefer richer dishes.
1. The exquisite soup of "Kibokoshi" that can be said to be life
The most distinctive feature of Hakata Daruma is the
manufacturing method known as "Yobimodoshi," which has been preserved
without interruption since the company's founding.
This method involves cooking only pork hind legs in a large
iron pot for a long time, and then adding new soup as the soup
decreases, resulting in an overwhelming richness and depth of flavor
that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
With one sip, the distinctive aroma of pork bones hits your
nose and the rich flavor that blends with the sweetness of the fat fills
your mouth.
2. "Ultra-thin noodles" that don't let the soup escape
This rich soup is paired with "extra thin straight noodles," some of the thinnest in Hakata ramen .
Pairings: The thinner the noodles, the better they will cling to the soup.
Texture: If you order it with "barikata" or "harigane," you
can enjoy a pleasant chewy texture that breaks apart easily.
Specialty: By reducing the amount of water in the noodles,
they are designed to absorb the soup more easily, a long-established
idea.
3. The overwhelming atmosphere of the "Main Branch"
When you step inside the Hakata Daruma Main Store on
Watanabe Street in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, the first thing that catches
your eye is the autographs of celebrities that cover the entire wall.
It has become a sacred place visited by fans of musicians,
actors, athletes, and more from all over the country, and has a unique
atmosphere that seems to retain the vitality and enthusiasm of the Showa
era. The time spent waiting for your ramen while surrounded by that
unique "pork bone aroma" is truly one of the best parts of sightseeing
in Hakata.
4. The ever-evolving Daruma brand
While preserving tradition, the second-generation owner, Mr.
Kawahara, continues to take on new challenges, such as developing
"Hide-chan Ramen."
" Hidechan Ramen Tonbo Branch " has been a famous restaurant since my university days!
That's what they say!!
I am well aware of this!!

This time, there was no queue, but the store was still very busy!
I'm so happy!!
Now you can eat it without having to go all the way to Hakata Daruma Main Store on Watanabe Street!!
It clearly says "Hakata Daruma Line 5"!
There are long lines on weekends and holidays, but there are some clever ideas to keep those lines interesting.
It looks like an old movie poster and advertises the grand opening on December 2nd, 2025!
There is a menu sign at the entrance to Hakata Daruma Line 5,
so it's a good idea to check it out to get an idea of what it's like.
I'm the type who always sticks to ramen and doesn't add toppings (lol).
I read somewhere on a website that there were 44 seats, and it really is! The seats and tables are spacious!
This is a store with great capacity!!
The store has been open since December 2nd, 2025, and in the
two months since then, the customer service has been impeccable and
efficient!
It's a lively and nice atmosphere.
Also, as you can see in the video, it is a famous store, so
there were replicas of autographed cards of celebrities on display!

It's been simmered for so long that it's foamy! It's a lump of umami!
The kids also gave it high marks, saying "This ramen is delicious!" (laughs)
That's right!
My wife's parents live nearby, so it's going to be a question
of whether to go to Ichiran Dazaifu or the nearby Ichiran (lol).
These super-thin noodles from Hakata Daruma Line 5!!
Of course, I ordered it
"Barikata" and it was the right choice (lol).
It clings to the soup like a brush!
This is insanely delicious!!
I ordered a second bowl of noodles, but I was so engrossed in eating it that I forgot to take a photo (lol).
Extra noodles are also available for 150 yen, so orders flooded in from children too!
I ordered refills a total of six times (lol).
The breakdown of the refills is 2 for my eldest son, 2 for my
second son, 1 for my eldest daughter, and 1 for me, which I shared with
my third son!
The pork bones left in the soup (lol)
This is deliciousness!!
Smelly = delicious!
Hakata Daruma is the very definition of "I've eaten pork bone ramen!"
Wow, it was delicious!!
The air after eating tonkotsu ramen is also delicious 😆
I was really satisfied, and even the burp smelled like pork bones, and it was delicious!!
I will definitely visit again in the future as I won't have
to go all the way to the Hakata Daruma Main Store on Watanabe Street,
it's close to my parents' house, and my children give it high marks!
Thank you for reading to the end!
Thank you for your continued support!
