A Nagasaki resident will guide you through the Pokemon GO Wild Area Nagasaki!
This time, the "Pokemon GO Wild Area Nagasaki" will be held
in Nagasaki, so as a level 10 Google Local Guide, I came up with a plan
that will allow you to easily visit all the event venues on foot!
Conclusion: "The walking route starting from Nagasaki Stadium City takes about 6.8 km and takes about 1 hour and 36 minutes (not including breaks and sightseeing). The tram is likely to be crowded, so we recommend walking on flat roads! "

▼Let me introduce it to you!
Pokemon GO Trainers, the time has finally come!
The Pokemon GO Wild Area Nagasaki will be held in Nagasaki
City on November 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2025. As a level 10 Google Local
Guide who loves Nagasaki and regularly promotes the city, I'd like to
suggest the ultimate itinerary to ensure you get the most out of this
special event!
A special course that will allow you to efficiently progress
through your Pokémon adventure while enjoying the history, exotic
atmosphere, and delicious cuisine of Nagasaki, the city of slopes.
Experience the excitement of catching rare Pokémon while experiencing the thrill of Nagasaki!
🗺️【The Beginning of the Adventure】The area where old and new Nagasaki intersect
1. Nagasaki Stadium City: The new face of Nagasaki!
Let's start with the newest landmark, where you can feel the
excitement of the event first! Nagasaki Stadium City, which just opened
in the fall of 2024, is a complex that brings together hotels and
commercial facilities around the home stadium and arena of V-Varen
Nagasaki and Nagasaki Velca.
🎮Event Heat: Many Trainers are expected to gather, so get a
head start by completing tasks. This is also the place to get stickers
and T-shirts!
🍜Side Trips: Many of the food halls and restaurants within
the facility are opening in Nagasaki for the first time, making them
perfect for filling up before the action. You can also soothe your
fatigue from the day before at the natural hot spring facility "YUKULU."
We also recommend purchasing prepared foods at a supermarket called
Foodway and eating them in the stands at Stadium City!

This is a screenshot from an acquaintance of mine who plays Pokemon GO.
This is the road along the river from Nagasaki Stadium City towards Nagasaki Station (lol)
This is amazing!
2. Nagasaki Station and Nagasaki Kaido Kamome Market, the gateway to Nagasaki
Nagasaki Station, just a short walk from Stadium City, is the
starting point for sightseeing in Nagasaki. The newly renovated station
building and the Nagasaki Kaido Kamome Market under the elevated tracks
offer a wide selection of Nagasaki prefecture's famous products,
souvenirs, and popular sweets.
Nagasaki Station is also filled with Pokémon!!
Lucky will also be there to welcome you!
📸Greetings: During the event, there will be a greeting event
at JR Nagasaki Station where you can meet Ampharos and Pikachu, the
"Nagasaki Future Support Pokémon"! Be sure to take a commemorative
photo!
💡What about trams and cars?
You can get a one-day pass (or unlimited ride pass for your
smartphone) for the Nagasaki Electric Tram here, but you can easily get
around the area on foot, so if you consider the parking issues and
waiting times for the tram, it's a smoother way to get around!
3. Nagasaki Prefectural Office Onoue Hill: A collaboration of stunning views and Pokémon
From Nagasaki Station, walk up the hill to Onoue Hill, the
Nagasaki Prefectural Office, where you can get a panoramic view of the
city and Nagasaki Port. This is a great viewing spot with good
ventilation, allowing you to get a real feel for the topography of
Nagasaki city. This is also an event venue, so it's definitely a place
you'll want to visit!
🐉Special Event: A dragon dance (Jaodori)
based on the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will be performed at this venue! This fusion of Nagasaki's traditional culture and Pokémon is a must-see.
🤸♀️Morning Energy: Join Lucario for some radio
calisthenics on November 8th and 9th at 8:30 AM! Get up early and get
ready for adventure!
🚢 [Bayside Stroll] An exotic waterfront area
4. "Platanus Square" leads you to the waterfront
From the prefectural office, head down towards Nakashima
River and arrive at the quiet and tranquil Platanus Square. From here,
your stroll along the coast begins.
🎨Side trip: There is a shopping mall called Yume Saito, and
the basement floor has a food court and food section, so it's convenient
to use! It's also a good place to stay hydrated and prepare meals!
5. Dejima Wharf: A restaurant district with spectacular ocean views
Dejima Wharf is a bayside area facing Nagasaki Port. It's a
spot where you can enjoy the exotic scenery and pleasant sea breeze.
There are many restaurants and cafes with terrace seating, making it the
perfect place to take a break while watching Mount Inasa and the ships
coming and going in and out of Nagasaki Port!
🍤 Food Tip: There are many restaurants serving fresh seafood
caught in the waters off Nagasaki, so why not enjoy a bayside lunch?
6. Mizube no Mori Park: A vast Pokémon playground
Located right next to Dejima Wharf, Nagasaki Waterfront
Forest Park is a popular public recreation area. The vast lawn and open
space make it perfect for raid battles and socializing with friends.
This is probably the most popular spot, so you might even be able to
meet famous YouTubers and trainers here!
🐻Greetings: Pokémon greetings with Bewitched and Tachibana
are planned here as well! Try to take a photo that can only be taken
here with Nagasaki Port in the background.
🚢Additional detour: On the ocean side of the park is Dejima,
a World Heritage Site that supported Japan's modernization. Strolling
through the townscape, which has been restored to its original
atmosphere, you can get a deeper sense of the history of foreign trade.
🍜 [Exploring Nagasaki Culture] The Center of History and Prosperity
7. The temptation of exquisite gourmet food "Shinchibashi Square ~ Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown"
From Mizube no Mori Park, cross the streetcar street and head
to Shinchibashi Square, the eastern entrance to Nagasaki Shinchi
Chinatown. Chinatown is one of Japan's three largest Chinatowns, along
with Yokohama and Kobe! The surrounding area is a popular tourist
destination, so we recommend enjoying sightseeing there!
🍲Lunchtime Decision: Head straight to Chinatown! Enjoy the
essence of Nagasaki cuisine, including Nagasaki champon, sara udon, and
even kakuni manju and mooncakes, perfect for eating on the go. Chinatown
is home to colorful gates on all four sides, making it a popular photo
spot.
8. Walk through the center of Nagasaki: The former prefectural office site
Head north from Chinatown to the former prefectural office
site, which is now a plaza. We also recommend stopping by the nearby
Dejima! Be sure to experience the exotic atmosphere of Dejima!
9. Hamanomachi Arcade: The shopping mecca
This course runs through Hamanomachi Arcade, Nagasaki's most
bustling shopping district. It is a lively shopping street lined with
shops ranging from long-established local stores to trendy new shops,
stretching for about 800 meters.
🛍️Souvenir shopping: This arcade has almost all of
Nagasaki's specialties, including souvenirs like castella and Yoriyori.
It's a great place to take a break and do some shopping.
10. Meganebashi Bridge: A power spot for love fulfillment
From Hamanomachi to Nakajima River. Meganebashi Bridge is
famous as Japan's first arched stone bridge, and its name comes from the
circular shape it forms when reflected on the river surface.
❤️ Heart Stones: Heart stones are embedded in the riverbanks,
bringing good luck. It is said that finding them all will bring you
success in love and happiness, so why not give it a try? You can also
mark the exact location as a Google Local Guide and share it with
others!
11. Nagasaki's administrative and educational centers: City Hall and Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture
Head east from Meganebashi Bridge, passing through the new
City Hall area and then on to the Nagasaki Museum of History and
Culture, where you can learn more about the history of Nagasaki.
The Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture is holding
the
"20th Anniversary Pokémon x Crafts Exhibition - Great Discoveries of
Beauty and Skill" ! This is a must-see for Pokémon fans!
Special website: https://event.nagasaki-np.co.jp/pokemon-kogeiten/
📜 Learn History: This museum is a partial restoration of the
Nagasaki Magistrate's Office from the Edo period, and displays valuable
materials from the isolationist period. Learning about the history of
Nagasaki as a gateway to foreign countries will make your walk around
the city even more interesting.
🏁【The End of the Adventure】And Next
12. Triumphant return to Nagasaki Station!
From the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture, we headed
back to Nagasaki Station. After a day spent touring Nagasaki's major
attractions, encountering countless Pokémon, and fully enjoying the
city's deep history and culture, we arrived at our destination with a
sense of fulfillment.
summary!
We considered using the tram to visit Nagasaki's major
tourist spots and the "Pokemon GO Wild Area" event spot, but we
anticipated it would be crowded, so we thought it would be better to
walk! Also, since many people use the tram on a daily basis, it would be
better not to use it to avoid wasting time waiting in line.
Nagasaki is a city with many cobblestone streets and slopes,
but the majority of this course is flat and is dotted with spots where
you can capture the typical Nagasaki scenery!
Through Pokémon GO, experience with all five senses the
diverse history and culture of Nagasaki, combining Japanese, Chinese,
and Dutch elements, as well as the charm of its delicious cuisine!
Please share your wonderful adventures and Nagasaki's
wonderful places with the world through your photos and reviews. As a
Nagasaki YouTuber, I too am rooting for your adventures!
