[Market frenzy] Yellowtail on a skewer (lol)! Seafood buying spree report at Nagasaki Fish Festival 2025 & sneak into the huge fish market!

Hello, this is Noguchi Tsuyoshi from Noguchubu  (X account @ta0416 )!

This time, we participated in the Nagasaki Fish Festival held at Nagasaki Fish Market!

Conclusion: "Not only can you buy fish at a low price, but it's also a great opportunity to experience Nagasaki, a port city that hosts a variety of events! The sight of the yellowtail skewered on the skewer was particularly impressive!!"

We once again participated in the Nagasaki Fish Festival, held at Nagasaki Fish Market on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at 9:00 AM! We've put together a video report of the market's lively atmosphere, the amazing sights that unfolded there, and our shopping spree of fresh seafood, so please take a look!

▼Exploring the festival atmosphere and the extraordinary market

This annual festival is known as a major event that colors Nagasaki's autumn season, and from early in the morning the entire market was filled with families and tourists, creating a truly exciting atmosphere.

Exploring the market, which is normally off-limits to the public, with the lively voices of market workers ringing out and the aroma of fresh fish filling the air, is an extraordinary and exciting experience.

▼A huge success at the annual event!

This year's Fish Festival was packed with the usual popular events!

There was a huge queue for the "fish catching" experience, where small children chased after fish while cheering! Also, the "fish auction competition" where professional fish brokers competed with serious expressions on their faces was overwhelming with its unique tension and realism. The "fish interaction experience" corner, which is unique to fish markets, allowed visitors to touch various fish that they would not normally be able to handle, and I thought it was a great event that allowed both adults and children to learn about marine life in a fun way.

▼Let me introduce it to you!

There were also activities like fish scooping and free food being served, but I didn't pay any attention to those and instead went to the market to buy some monaka!!

We also had the opportunity to see some living creatures!

A very popular fish experience event for children!

We also had the opportunity to see some living creatures!

I arrived around 8 o'clock before the event, so it was just the right time to kill time,

As expected, the wait was long, so I bought some Chirin Chirin ice cream!

▼Shocking sight! Encountering a yellowtail buying spree
Shocking sight! I came across a scene of a yellowtail buying spree

The most attractive thing about the market is the super fresh seafood that you can buy on the spot! In one corner of the market, seafood was being offered at amazing prices.

The sight of large quantities of yellowtail being sold at the incredibly low price of 1,000 to 2,000 yen each is simply breathtaking!

What was even more surprising was the spot next to the sales booth where the yellowtails were lined up! Huge yellowtails waiting to be processed were lined up in an orderly fashion, literally "strung all over the place" , and this really made me feel the power of a real market. Being able to capture this extraordinary scene on camera was one of the great things I got out of this trip!

Enjoy seasonal saury and Nagasaki's food culture (whale)

My goal was to get some seasonal flavors!

Among the various fish on display, what particularly caught my eye was the fatty, fresh pacific saury!

The price was extremely low that day, so I bought 10 without any hesitation. I grilled the pacific saury with salt and enjoyed it!

Also, in a sight unique to Nagasaki's food culture, the whale sales area was bustling with activity. Whale meat is still loved as a precious ingredient in Nagasaki, and seeing so many people buying it really brought home to me the depth of this area's history and food culture.

▼Thank you for the best experience!

The Nagasaki Fish Festival is not just a chance to buy delicious fish; it's also a great event where you can experience the energy of the fish market, the passion of the people involved in the fishing industry, and experience the local food culture.

I was deeply moved by the enthusiasm of the entire market, the smiles of the visitors, and the heartfelt "thank you" from the vendors. I have nothing but gratitude for all those involved in making the fish market such a fun and open place.

I can't wait for next year's event, and of course I will definitely participate again next year so that I can share this excitement and deliciousness with everyone.

We hope that this video will convey to you at least a little of the enthusiastic atmosphere of the Nagasaki Fish Festival and the appeal of fresh seafood.

Thank you for reading to the end!

Thank you for your continued support!
