I'll be reviewing the recommended menu items at BABAKE Kōzenmachi, a ramen shop I recommend in Nagasaki City: Mala Tantanmen, Umakara Mala Tsukemen, and Ramen Kuro!
Hello, this is Noguchi Tsuyoshi from Noguchi Tube (X account @ta0416 )!
This time, I tried the Mala Tantanmen, Umakara Mala
Tsukemen, and Ramen Kuro from BABAKE Kōzenmachi, a ramen shop in
Nagasaki City that I highly recommend!
In conclusion, "The sesame and spicy flavor of the Mala Dan Dan Noodles is truly delicious! The spicy Mala Tsukemen also has a unique and rich soup that is fantastic! They have both white and black ramen, and I recommend both!"
As a resident of Nagasaki, if you're looking for a ramen shop
in Nagasaki City, I usually recommend "Noukou Tonkotsu Kadoya,"
"Always," "Kobachi Ramen," and "Ryoma-ya," but the ramen shop that's
easiest to get to and that I visit the most is probably "BABAKE"!
I've uploaded many videos and blog posts in the past!
Furthermore, we also have branches in Edomachi and Kamome
Yokocho near Nagasaki Station, making them relatively easy to visit for
tourists, which is another reason why we recommend them!
As a particularly recommended menu item, I recommend the
summer-only "Cold Soupless Dan Dan Noodles." People often ask, "Isn't
Nagasaki known for its tonkotsu ramen?", but my personal favorite menu
item at BABAKE is the "Mala Dan Dan" style!
By the way, if you ask me "What kind of tonkotsu ramen do you
like?", I would say I love tonkotsu ramen like "Taiho Ramen" in Kurume
and "Ichiran," and they both have a different kind of flavor.
If we're talking about "tonkotsu ramen in Nagasaki City,"
then "Kadoya," "Always," and "Kobachi Ramen" are my favorites.
In Nagasaki City, I go to Ryoma-ya, a ramen shop specializing
in Iekei-style ramen, when I'm craving garlic and chili bean paste and
want a guilty pleasure meal. If you ask me what other Iekei-style ramen I
like, it would be Yamaoka-ya, which is famous throughout Japan.
BABAKE particularly loves the recommended "Mala Dan Dan
Noodles," "Soupless Dan Dan Noodles," and "Cold Soupless Dan Dan
Noodles," and highly recommends them as menu items!
Also, I'd like to introduce you to the "Spicy Tantan Tsukemen" at the Kōzenmachi store, which I highly recommend! 😆
▼Now, let me introduce them!
This is what the exterior of BABAKE Kōzenmachi store looks like!
It was raining today, but I visited around lunchtime, so there was only a short line (lol).
You can see our popular recommended menu items even outside the store!
During lunchtime, we offer set menus that include rice dishes!
Now we're going inside!!!
There were so many people that I couldn't take a picture of the table seating, but it was very crowded!
There's always a nice flow of people coming and going!
Also, the menu is explained on the sign at the entrance!
This is a BABAKE classic!

Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and we also recommend our set menus!
We also have an evening menu!
It will be from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
The motsunabe (offal hot pot) is also great!
I've visited several times, including at night!
Limited quantity: Nagasaki Chinese Noodles 950 yen. Soy sauce ramen.
This is also quite popular, and when I visited today, it was sold out (lol).
And my wife and I ordered the "BABAKE Mala Dan Dan Noodles for 1050 yen!"
I ordered the extra spicy version, but the sesame flavor was mild, and the spiciness was just right!
This is a highly recommended dish that even those who love spicy food should definitely try!
It was amazing the moment it was brought to me!
Key features:
Before eating, make sure to mix it thoroughly from the bottom!
It's recommended to mix the ground meat, mizuna, bean sprouts, and green onions well before eating!
Taste impressions:
Despite being labeled "extremely spicy," the rich sesame
flavor is so prominent that it's surprisingly mild and has an
exceptional richness!
The secret to a great closing:
The correct way to eat it is to dip the rice into the soup after you've finished the noodles.
The spicy kick of the mala and the rich soup can be enjoyed to the very last drop—a perfect finish! 🍚🔥
Spicy Tantan Tsukemen (Extra Large Portion) 1300 yen!!
I ordered and ate this before, but it's even better and more delicious than before!
The dipping sauce for the tsukemen is rich and thick, and it
coats the flat noodles perfectly, allowing you to savor the delicious
flavor directly as you slurp them down!
My child ordered the medium spicy version, and I highly
recommend this tsukemen (dipping noodles) because you can choose the
level of spiciness, making it enjoyable even for children!
This is the BABAKE "Ramen Black" (950 yen) that my child ordered!
This soup is also incredibly delicious!
This place seems to be highly regarded and trusted by the children!
I enjoyed it very much by ordering extra noodles for 150 yen multiple times (lol).
If you're in Nagasaki City for the Nagasaki Kunchi festival,
the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, or sightseeing in Nagasaki, please,
please come and try the "Mala Tantanmen" and "Mala Tantan Tsukemen" at
"BABAKE Kōzenmachi"!!!
This is a highly recommended ramen restaurant that's also popular with Nagasaki residents!
Thank you for reading to the end!
I look forward to your continued support!
