I played with my kids at the Fukuoka City Zoo and Botanical Gardens!

Hello, this is Noguchi Tsuyoshi from Noguchubu  (X account @ta0416 )!

I went to the Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens with my kids, so I'd like to show you around!

Conclusion: "The tigers were really impressive! There were also many well-known animals such as lions, orangutans, giraffes, elephants, penguins, and rhinos, making it a really fascinating zoo! It is currently undergoing renovations, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!"

Introducing the charms of Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens!

The Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens is located close to Fukuoka city, making it a popular spot not only for Fukuoka residents but also for tourists!

It is not only a zoo but also a botanical garden, so you can observe the ecology of animals and enjoy the beautiful flowers of each season!

It takes about three and a half hours to see everything, so it's a great place to spend the whole day, and it's a great place to have lunch at the bento shop or convenience store!

We've summed up the charms of Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens in 5 easy points!

About 100 kinds of animals live at Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens!

  • Tsushima wildcat: One of the attractions of Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens is that you can see the Tsushima wildcat up close, which is rare in Japan.
  • Asian Tropical Valley Area: This area recreates the ecology of animals that live in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, such as Asian small-clawed otters and giant scops owls, making you feel like you're on a jungle adventure.

Attraction 2: The beauty of the botanical gardens

Not only is there a zoo, but there is also a botanical garden!

  • Flowers of all seasons: You can enjoy a variety of flowers throughout the year, including a rose garden, wildflower garden, and large flower beds.
  • Large Conservatory: The large greenhouse, filled with blooming tropical plants, will make you feel like you're in a foreign country.
  • Plant diversity: Approximately 2,600 species of plants are cultivated, allowing visitors to learn about plant diversity.
  • The view from the observation deck is also spectacular!  The botanical garden is located on a small hill, so there is an observation deck from which you can enjoy the view of Fukuoka city.
